Officials with responsibility for ICT will meet for two days on May 24-25 in preparation for the Ministerial meeting on Friday, 27 May 2011.
Chief among the agenda items for discussion is the draft Regional Digital Development Strategy “to guide the ICT activities and initiatives in the Region and which will leverage ICT as a critical development tool to advance the Region on its path to an Information Society.” Ministers of Information are expected to approve the draft Strategy and discuss approaches to its implementation.
The COTED Meeting will be held under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Grenada, the Honourable Tillman Thomas, who has lead responsibility for Science and Technology (including ICT) in the Quasi Cabinet of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community.
There will be an Opening Ceremony to which representatives of the Media are invited to provide coverage. The details of which are outlined below:
